Che Guevara (Not Me)

As I type the flowing narrative that is my blog, I'm taking a little break from reading an article about Che Guevara, the hero of the Cuban Revolution.  As I was reading this article, I felt a sense of sympatico with my buddy Che, for I too am currently engaged in a vicious revolutionary battle--an epic game of Humans Vs. Zombies.  Much like Che when he was storming through the Cuban jungles with little more than a green jacket, a knife, an AK-47, and a very fine hat; I am prowling the campus of Utah State University with my orange arm-band, a pocket full of balled up socks, and my trusty Nerf blaster in hand.  "Eat foam darts, undead scum!!!"  My parallel relationship with Che was further reinforced when I read that he was born on June 14, the very day of my own blessed nativity.  At this point I was feeling pretty confident--after all, I shared a birthday with one of the greatest revolutionaries the world had ever known, a man who changed the face of guerrilla warfare forever, and a man whose tactics could be applied to my present situation with what I assumed would be certain success.  As I read on, however, my hopes became less certain.  You see, after dear Che's victory in Cuba he tried to lead a revolution in the Congo.  It didn't work.  Then he went to Bolivia instead.  That one didn't work either.  Unless of course you count running through the jungle for eleven months, being captured by the army, having your hands chopped off, being shot, and buried in an unmarked grave success.  In my book that's more like epic failure.  So Che, I'm not sure whether I should be proud or not that I have your birthday.  I'm pretty sure it won't be enough to protect me against a zombie invasion though.  Instead I'll have to rely on my wit, nerve, and a never-ending barrage of foam justice.  Random affiliation with a failed Latin-American revolutionary just isn't gonna cut the mustard this time.  With that, adios faithful readers, and until next time "Muerte a los zombis!"
